Source: Ronald Bevan Jolley  On leaving school he was offered a job with Remo and Sylvia Pollastri on the mixed farm outside Nakuru where he stayed two years and received an excellent grounding in machinery, repairs and welding, cattle and crops, mainly wheat and maize. In 1957 he received his call up papers for the Kenya Regiment and was involved in the search for Dedan Kimathi in the pseudo security forces for which he received commendation from the commander in chief. On his release from the Kenya Regiment he joined George Simpson on his farm at Rongai 1951 to 61. In 1962 he joined the family at Kima farm and took over the machinery and crops. When he left Kima he joined Lady Delamere at Ndabibi Estate. In 1978 he moved to Gilgil and joined Kijabe Limited, a machinery firm. In 1983 he was offered a position as technical manager for Kipkebe tea estate at Sotik. He was a popular figure in the area, playing rugby, hockey, squash and swimming. Unfortunately, like his brother Arthur, he died in a motor accident outside Nakuru on 25 June 1985.
