Leonora to Percy 25 Aug 1917, Papers of Peggy Forrester, Bodleian Library Micr. Afr.586 Death of poor old father. A severe stroke, lost the use of his other side and was unable to swallow. A rhino was making for our house so he got his gun and went to shoot it. Two yards from the house, then had a stroke. The doctor was in Nairobi and didn't get back till after he was buried. Minister from the Scotch Mission buried him. Came 50 miles on his bicycle and wouldn't take a cent.
