Walsall Observer 11 Aug 1923 At the untimely age of 34, the death has occurred of Captain Macpherson, eldest son of the late Mr Macpherson and Mrs Macpherson, pf Wyrley Grove. An intimation that her son had succumbed to malarial fever in Africa has been received by Mrs Macpherson, but no further details are forthcoming at present. A soldier by profession, the late Captain Macpherson was an officer in the Cameron Highlanders, and during his service in the recent war was badly wounded at Hill 60. Subsequently he was appointed regimental musketry instructor at the Cameron's depot in Inverness, and afterwards he was given the government post at which he has died near Lake Nairobi, in Central Africa.
