EAS 1 June 1934 On 29th May a fatal gun accident at Soy when Rupert R Bradshaw and B Flint were out shooting. Proceeding through bush at about sunset with a line of boys beating when Mr Flynn who was about 100 yards from Mr Bradshaw, heard a shot. On investigating he found Mr Bradshaw on the ground on the point of expiring with the left side of his chest blown away. Mr Bradshaw's shotgun had the stock broken. The boys who were nearest Mr Bradshaw say that their last saw him proceeding through the bush with the gun carried in both hands in front of his body, but none of them saw the accident actually happen. It is surmised that Bradshaw stumbled while walking forward and throwing his hands forward to save himself brought the stock of the gun heavily to the ground breaking it, the shock causing the gun to be fired. Bradshaw is a brother-in-law to Mr DW Dickinson of Soy with whom he has been staying for some time. He has been in Kenya since last October and was intending to buy a farm in the district and settle here.
