EAS 24 May 1928 Retirement. Efficient and popular. He joined the KUR and H in May 1914 as a section clerk in the accounts department. He had war service with the railways unit and in September 1920 was promoted to be an assistant chief accountant. In 1928 he became assistant administrative superintendent and was made administrative assistant to the General Manager in 1930, a position he held until his retirement. He was awarded both the Jubilee and Coronation Medals and played a very big part in the promotion of various sporting activities among the railway staff at the club and at the Golf Club. He has been a prominent golfer and has won almost every pot or mug in railway golf club competitions. He captained the club on three occasions and has served on the committee since 1922. In Nairobi generally he had a wide circle of friends. Has five children, three boys and two girls. He will live in London now. Before he came here he was connected for several years with the Continental section of the railway now known as the Southern Railway. In 1936 he was secretary to Sir Osborne Mance during the inquiry into the coordination of transport.
