General Information:

Lander - Nancye - "Instead of the big, buxom girl I had known many years before, Nancye was now a slim, elegant, poised woman of the world. Her delightful sense of humour was still the same, and as the wife of a senior Government official and the mother of 2 attractive children her personality had expanded with her responsibilities, and she was amost delightful companion. Noel, her husband, whom I had never met before, is a short, well-built man with very bright, sparkling blue eyes which were the first thing you noticed about him."
Colonial - Senior DC 1952; PC 1953-59
Gazette 25 Mar 1983 probate
Terence Gavaghan, Of Lions and Dungbeetles, 1999 DC at Kiambu 1950. He was a good man to work for. In his mid 40s he was short, compactly built and balding with intensely blue eyes and few words, which he released slowly after what seemed like the click of a glottal stop. He had a Judo belt and held his otherwise astutely dominant wife Nancy over one shoulder and between his legs in a popular jitterbug turn at the club. He was humorous, trusted and rose to be a PC.
