General Information:
On receiving his remittance twice a year, he would take a train to Mombasa, meet the European passengers for up-country who had just arrived off a liner, and pay their fares to Nairobi as a gesture of welcome. There were, of course, in those days seldom more than a dozen passengers. He endeared himself to many through his kind actions.

He was an alcoholic Scotsman who had originally settled in South Africa. After losing his family he sold out and migrated to Kenya, settling in Trans Nzoia. He was a social misfit.
