Served in India with Loyal N. Lancs. Trained Africans to read music by his own unique method of using rupees and divisions thereof to represent quavers etc. 1920 formed first orchestra, members N.K. Kilminster, W.A. Nicholson, R.A. Hawkins Italian cellist named Cozzi.
Raised large part of funds for Memorial Hall, Nbi.
Moyse - Harvey had joined the West Riding Regt. as a drummer boy. Afterwards he was trained at Kneller Hall and served as a bandmaster in S. Africa, Burma and India. He became a well known figure at Nairobi, where he was known familiarly as 'George'. After leaving the KAR in 1924 he was employed by the KUR and later became bandmaster of the Kenya Police Band. He died in 1951.
