Denis Monteith (son) National Bank of India and went to Nairobi in 1919: served 35 years overseas. Mid 1920's transferred to India; firstly to Bombay then Calcutta till 1934. Met Rosina Evelyn Wade (Billie) in Bombay, who had been brought up there from age two in 1910. They married in UK in 1931. Returned to Nairobi 1934/7. Mombasa 1938/45. Chairman Mombasa Club 1943/4. Zanzibar 1946. Uganda 1947/48, Kisumu 1949/51, Nakuru 52/53 where suffered a severe heart attack during the emergency and was repatriated to Edinburgh for treatment. Retired 1954. In 1956 moved to Malta for better climate but died there later that year on 18th December 1956. I am not sure of his war service in Mombasa, but believe he was a reservist in the KAR, and my mother was very active in being a driver for the Royal Navy and was involved in helping run the Naafi entertainments when the Navy fleet was in Port. She was a fluent Hindustani speaker which was useful for oral translation in Kenya and was called on to help censor Indian films before they were shown locally..Her details born 21/9/1908 in Essex. Died 1985 Dorset UK.
