Foster - The younger son of Alexander W. Skinner of Dalmagarry and Red Hill, Allanfearn, Inverness died September 1951. In World War I he joined the Cameron Highlanders and was commissioned into the 60th Rifles and completed his war service as a Captain at the age of 19. He came to Kenya in 1920 and worked on the Kenton Estates, Naivasha. He did freelance hunting and contracting and joined with Captain W.H.F. Hughes in the construction of the Uasin Gishu railway line.
In 1923 he joined the Marmanet Sawmills at Thomson's Falls and was with them until he retired through ill-health in 1950. At that time he was their general manager. He left a wife and a daughter Jillian. September 1951 died
Rob Ryan - 6/2/04 - 'Geordie' Skinner came out as the saw doctor to Marmanet Sawmill and became Mill Manager. He married Diana from England and they had one child, Jill. Geordie, and I am not sure if that reflects his name or his origin, died about '47 and Diana died after I left Kenya. Jill last heard of (1980) was living alone on the coast, very eccentrically.
