Kiambu Scrapbook - St. Michael and All Angels Church, Ruiru - Before the church was built [1933] the monthly services were held at the old Ruiru Club Room which belonged to Mr Bob Udall, brother to the late Alderman Charles Udall, sometime Mayor of Nairobi, and to their sister Mrs Branes, and adjoined their General Stores. This room was an old wooden building on stilts with a corrugated iron roof, and when the rains came down even the old wheezy harmonium could scarcely be heard.
