R.B. Jolley - "1918 - Conrad and Kate Luckes moved to Kenya from Southern Rhodesia with son Eric Luckes, who was born in Rhodesia, date unknown. Daughter Maud Abbey Morgan Luckes, born in Rhodesia 24/7/1906. Conrad Luckes started off as storekeeper - Magadi Soda. 1920 joined Kenya Uganda Railways as Storekeeper, and family moved to Nakuru. Then worked for Gailey and Roberts in Nairobi till retirement. Died in 1952, wife Kate in 1953, both buried City Park cemetery.
