Letter from Angus McDonald - " …… there was a small shop (duka) which also acted as Kipkarren Post Office, run by one Matthew Morton, who also had his ageing maiden sisters Helen and Mary living with him.
M-Sitrep XXX - Jeremy Lunn writes - "Near the tennis club in a thatched cottage were Matthew Morton and his sister Mary, who ran the Post Office and manual telephone service. Matthew was thought to be responsible for the heavy breathing on the line that often went with a call, particularly annoying to those ringing my mother on a personal medical matter.
