Padraig Cawdery (son):  Enlisted in the British Army on 4 March 1915, assigned to the Middlesex Regiment (Footballers’ Battalion) and departed for the Western Front 15 November 1915. Wounded in action 1916.  Captured 24 April 1918 at Villers-Bretonneux.  PoW in Saarbrucken, Germany until the Armistice. Obtained a pharmacy degree from St Bartholomew's Hospital. Emigrated to Kenya in 1923 to work for AA White (Chemists).  Subsequently joined Wardle's Chemists and worked in Nairobi, Eldoret and Kisumu. Farmed in Lumbwa (Kipkelion) from 1945 to 1954. Formed Harleys Ltd (Chemists) in Kisumu 1954. Retired to the Isle of Man in 1964.
