He was the Duke of Fife's Chief Gardener at Ham, Surrey until the Duke's death in Cairo after being shipwrecked in the Med. At Nbi. City Park he planted out Hampton Court Maze, lawns & bouganvilleas, flowers & bowls courts. Also planted trees and flowers along the Nairobi avenues and streets
