Penelope Deubel (granddaughter): EDMUND VICTOR MEGSON (b. 24.03.1865) and his wife AMELIA ANN LOUDON MEGSON (b.20.11/1868) left England in 1924 on the « SS.Gloucester Castle » to join their son Forrest Loudon Megson in Kenya - then part of what was called « British East Africa » - arriving in Kitale on 04.09.1924 They lived on "Elgon Dacre” farm and possibly later “Scapa" or “Katalina" farms (in which EV, Forrest and Douglas had interests) until Amelia died on 23.11.1928 in Dr. Dundas' Nursing Home in Eldoret (Kenya), and was buried in the Cemetery there with a sundial as tomb stone. Edmund Victor later returned to England and died on 07.10.1935.
