General Information:
Ord - 'Kimilili ………. Edric Paulson with his wife and three school-aged daughters. He was a South African on Land Survey work and had a decent house so we used to spend a lot of time there. His wife cooked us some lovely meals and the daughters taught me to play majong when they were home from their boarding school in Eldoret, 150 miles away …… Edric Paulson who had an office in his home. We were extremely friendly, with a great deal in common, and similar attitudes to our jobs, our beloved Kenya and the whole world. But there was a tragedy. Edric had returned home late one evening after sitting on a land shauri (African court case); his children had been put to bed and he was sitting down to his late evening meal, in his dressing gown, having bathed and refreshed, when, unusually for this hour, he answered a knock on his door. Opening it he was confronted by someone who had been involved in the land case. He pointed a shotgun at Edric and shot him dead. The killer was soon arrested and eventually hanged in Kisumu prison. I heard Edric's widow and children returned to South Africa, but lost contact with them.
