General Information:
While in Kitale he was drummer for the 'Kitale Four' - main bookings used to be Muthaiga - including playing for the Prince of Wales. Bought farm at Njoro during the war - approx. 1940-41. After retirement, due to ill health, he and his wife went to the Coast and ran the Likoni Children's Holiday Camp for 4 years until his death. Source: Ann Narraway
Trans Nzoia Scrap Book - In 1934 Miss Gertie Narraway[sister of Frank, b. Germany, married Jimmy Wyatt, Lived in Lanet, d.2001] was Guide Captain of the 1st Kitale Guides at Kitale School. She took the Company to the Colony Camp at Mombasa which must have been a wonderful treat for them.
Trans Nzoia Scrap Book - Visit of HRH The Prince of Wales - ….we waltzed and quick-stepped to such popular tunes of the time as "Ramona" and "A Room with a View", played with infectious enthusiasm and skill by the Kitale Four - Elsie Sale who later became Mrs Beric Brooksbank, Frank Narraway, Gerald Smallwood and Tub Roberts. This band was invited by Muthaiga Country Club to play at the Ball given in honour of HRH The Prince of Wales.
