Web DNW - commissioned as a 2nd Lieut. In the King's Royal Rifle Corps on 10 Oct 1894. He was appointed Lieut. In the Uganda Militia in June 1898, immediately departing London for Uganda, via Marseilles and Mombasa. He served with the Wakedi Field Force in Unyoro in March and April 1899 (Medal with clasp). He died on Kerenge Island, Lake Victoria, on 14 Jan 1900, whilst on his way from Kampala to Kisumu having been invalided to the coast with blackwater fever.
