Macmillan - 1930 - Beales and Smithson, Land, Estate and Managing Agents etc. - The business was started in 1919 by Mr C.K.D. Beales, who was formerly employed by Messrs. Pauling and Co. Ltd., London, in an important position on the construction of the Magadi Railway. At the end of 1920 he was joined in partnership by Mr A.L. Smithson, previously in business in Rhodesia.
