General Information:
Sportsmen - Major George Edward Moke Norrie was born in New York, and educated at Haileybury and at Brasenose College, Oxford. He has shot in Ceylon, Alaska, the Rockies, Somaliland, Uganda and British East Africa.
Web - George Edward Moke seems to have given up the law, as he was later Major George Edward Moke Norrie, having changed his name, for reasons that are not clear, before Willoughby was born. In the 1901 census, Beatrice Norrie is living in Brighton at age 26 as the head of household, with her widowed mother Eleanor, her three children; Willoughby Norrie, Dorothy Norrie, George Norrie, and eight servants. Presumably her husband was away from home.
Changed his name in 1893.
