Nicholls - Kit Henn, a coffee farmer's wife and writer of 'The Distaff Side' column in the Kenya Weekly News, helped to establish the Frangipani Club, a multi-racial group that became the Kenya Women's Society. She further put her beliefs into practice by teaching spinning and weaving to African women in Nairobi prison.
