Mombasa & travelled to Kisumu with wife, June 1905; Arrested at Kisumu for travelling without a ticket, ga ve false name of Morgan, sentenced to 14 days imprisonment, sent to Nairobi prison from Kisumu 26/7/1905; released 7/8/1905; dep. Nairobi for Mombasa with wife 28/8/1905; Turner gaoled at Mombasa as a vagrant, wife at 'The Cecil Hotel' paid for by Distressed British Subject Fund but turned out of hotel when she rifled some boxes belonging to Miss Heath who she was sent to nurse. Both Turner & wife in gaol at Mombasa 25/9/1905; 'They are both extremely lazy, insubordinate and insolent' (C.R.W. Lane, CO 533)
