mini-Sitrep XIV - Reginald Charles (Bay) Denning died in Merrivale, KwaZulu-Natal on 7 January 1999. Schooled in England, 'Bay' served in the RNVR, as a Lt. During WW2, after which he emigrated to Kenya. He attended Egerton Agricultural College, bought a farm at Eldama Ravine and in 1954 married Ivy Poolman from Nanyuki. In 1962, with their 4 children, they moved to South Africa, eventually buying a smallholding in Merrivale (Longonot). After a successful period of pig breeding, Bay and Ivy opted for a small dairy herd.
