Wife wrote 'On the Edge of the Rift', an account of missionaries in Kenya from 1930s to 1940s. Publ by Langley, Canada 1992. Edith Devitt Trade Paperback with 299 pages - On the Edge of the Rift is the story of vision put into action. The author and her husband, Welles Devitt, in partnership with African people, planted scores of churches and 140 schools in the South Rift Valley province of Kenya. In 1930, the region had very few churches and most of its thousands of people were illiterate. This story covers the time of Kenya's awakening from this condition.
