Angela Carr-Hartley: In Kenya, he worked with his father and three brothers in the fields of: Game Capture, Professional Hunter and Safari Guide for “Carr-Hartley & Sons”. He also ran the family cattle farm in Rumuruti. Brian and his family moved to South Africa in 1977. They had a sugar cane farm in Tala Valley (outside Pietermaritzburg) in KwaZulu Natal). In 1991, they moved to Amanzimtoti, KwaZulu Natal where he retired.
