For most of his service he has worked within Special Branch where he has shown marked aptitude in the uncovering of subversive movements, often in extremely difficult conditions. By his excellent judgement in his assessments of a variety of situations he has contributed materially to the political stability of the country and his cheerful leadership of his subordinates has gained for him their utmost support and co-operation. His work from Sept 1962 to March 1963 has been outstanding” (Kenya Police association archive).
