Playne - Whether or not clothes make the man, it is certain that it will not be long after a new town has come into existence that a firm of outfitters will also have made its appearance. Although in Nairobi itself Messrs Maxwell, Brady & Co. were not established until 1908, yet both the partners, Mr W. Maxwell and Mr R. Brady, who came there from South Africa, had had a long experience in their business, and it was quickly found that they could be relied on in whatever they undertook. From the first they made it a rule to be right up to date in every way. To ensure this they always have a complete high-class stock of hosiery and general outfitting goods, an inspection of which is cordially invited. While catering for the general outfitting of men, ladies are not overlooked, and will find that the arrangements for their supply and comfort are satisfactory in every detail. The firm, too, makes a special line of "indents from England", and if energy and enterprise count for anything Messrs Maxwell and Brady will continue to flourish.
