Mills - Muthaiga Club - In 1917 ……… The Military were also required to return the Club furniture, which they had stored prior to commencing operations, but an audit found that a large quantity of valuable furniture was missing from the original inventory. As a result, the Club Accountant, Percy Moss, was sent to Dar es Salaam to give evidence at the Field General Court's Trial of the Quartermaster of the South African General Hospital, Capt. H. Ladwick, and to identify the property of the Club. Capt. Ladwick was found guilty of 'fraudulantly misappropriating public goods' and cashiered.
