East African Standard 5 Jan 1924 obituary He came to Kenya in 1924. A mariner by calling, he was employed by the Union Castle Steamship Company for some years and he held a master's certificate. The first years of the war he acted as Admiralty Pilot at Kilindini. Then he joined the BEA Corporation and was appointed manager of the EA Lands and Development Company at Gilgil where he remained for three years. After that he joined Coverdale and Co, giving his attention to their land department. A keen student of politics, the many problems of the post war development of the colony attracted and held his attention he joined the Nairobi Political Association.
