The original Brackenhurst Hotel is still there [1987] together with several of the hotel rooms including the lovely old dining room in which the Annual Limuru Flower Show is still held. It is no longer a hotel but is now an American Baptist Assembly, and Margot lives in the Lodge which her mother built in 1922, a lovely old house of great peace and character. Margot was of course amongst the principal organisers for the Limuru Day in 1938 and we see her dressed as a Pearly Queen with feathers in her hat from an ostrich shot by Sherlock Holmes, the White Hunter of the district.
