Link 21 - Noreen Mills died 1999 - Her father, the late George Tillitson Varley, arrived in Kenya in 1929 to take up his appointment as a Permanent Way Inspector. His family (Noreen, aged 2) followed him in 1930. Just before WW2 started , George was knocked down and killed by a RAF lorry outside the Nairobi Railway Club, while out training (jogging) on Whitehouse Road for the then annual Railway Athletics meeting
