He was deputy Mayor in Nairobi to Gladys Delamere in the 20's. A keen golfer - in 1937 departed to Dar es Salaam as Managing Director, EA Breweries where he is now known as their 'founder!
In the 20's, for a bet, together with one Thomas Hatley? (Hately) played a hole of golf on every course between and including Nairobi and Eldoret in one day.
