KFA - Miss Nellie Brayne sang Swannee River and Juanita to great applause. The two girls and their mother walked three miles into Nakuru, and three miles back again at 2.30 am. People in those days worked hard for their pleasures and enjoyed them accordingly.

KFA - In 1904 at Nakuru New Year's Eve Ball the musicians failed to appear but Mr MacLaughton and Mr Brayne, whose two daughters were the belles of the evening, made do with a violin and an accordion.
