One of the original '500' men in the Kenya Regt. in 1937. (KR 380). No birthdate in KR record.
Dermot Balson: When I googled Balsons in Kenya, I came across a Richard Kiplel Balson dropping the name Balson in 1962 (I guess after independence, a European surname was no longer an advantage). I wondered where he got the name Balson, because my family were the only ones there. Then I looked up what kiplel meant, and it was "son of a white man". And Sidney (above) had been working in that area 25 years earlier.......
