Buffalo Barua 3 - Article about CSM Charlie Broomfield - ' ….. I joined the Regiment in March 1938 and later that year became Platoon Sergeant to John Garvey. In September 1939 I was appointed CSM of D Company with Harry Allen as PSI and lived in the Sergeants' Mess with the Guardsmen whom I got to know well.
