In 1927, whilst in England Mr Shapley was requested by the Committee of Muthaiga to select a professional, and out of a large number of applications (between 300 and 400) eventually appointed Mr Harry Kinnell of Prestwick. ...laid out a second nine holes to complete the course in 1928.
