General Information:

Bwana - At a water hole called Lokaturr we met William Hale, the DO from Lodwar ..... He had arrived in Kenya a year or so previously, and was very interested in wild life and a keen photographer. He had come to Lokaturr by camel safari and was touring the southern part of his area ....... little did I realise that in the future he and myself were to be closely associated. ......... DC in charge of Garissa district was William Hale - wife Morna short for Lamorna - invited George Adamson to a Christmas Eve party, a cheery evening when George met Joy (then married to Peter Bally)
Kinloch - the quiet man who did much for Kenya's wildlife in a typically self-effacing way.
Cass - Morna Hale said - Peter Bally went to South Africa because he was exhausted by Joy [later Adamson] - he simply could not satisfy her voracious sexual demands. ......... Introduced Joy to George Adamson at Christmas party in 1942 when Willie Hale was DC at Garissa. ...... Later Willie had a row with Joy and she did not speak to him for 15 years.
Obituary - Jambo 64 - It is with deep regret that we announce the death on May 10th 1996 of William Holden Hale, affectionately known as Willy, beloved husband of Morna, our Benevolent Committee Chairman and father of Nigel and Lynette and a loving grandfather. ............ For many years Willy was with the Kenya Administration and was Chief Game Warden of Kenya, much respected by all his colleagues as a most knowledgeable person and dedicated to his work. In 1959 Morna and Willy returned to UK and went to live at Hurstbourne Priors, Hampshire but they did not sever their links with Kenya as for over 20 years they conducted many Swan Hellenic Tours to Kenya with Willy as guest lecturer and guide - he was a great authority on all aspects and trout fishing was his great love. ...…
