Info from Mark Weaver: After World War 2, Douglas took of the running/ownership of Lorakoorti, South Kinangop. When the Duries left Kenya, Di and Douglas acquired a farm in Somerset, which after a time was sold in favour of the acquisition of “Camp Green” Farm, Debenham, Suffolk
In World War 2: Military Cross for outstanding gallantry and devotion during the attack on the east bank of the Chindwin River. Capt. Durie was the FOO with the assaulting companies. and while under constant enemy small arms and mortor fire and with complete disregard for his personal safety, he located enemy strongpoints and succeeded in ranging his own and other regiments’ onto enemy positions.
