Tom Lawrence: Son of Henry Lynes Clifford and Anna Alexandra Clifford; husband of Evelyn Margaret Clifford, of Gilgil (CWGC Website). He made Land Applications in mid-1938 for the following: i) 1549/R2394 5,000 acres 1549/2396, ii) for 4,700 acres both on the Ewaso Nyiro and iii) LR 5162 in Mukogodo East for 6,000 acres (The Official Gazette, 16th Aug 1938, p. 1094). As per Govt. Notice No. 81, he passed the oral of his ‘Lower Standard Swahili Examination held on 8th & 9th Jan 1941 at the School of Instruction. The results were announced on 24th Jan 1941.
