East Africa & Rhodesia - 12/1/56 - Mr Richard Everard Thorne, an assisitant commissioner of police in Zanzibar, has been found dead in bed in Dar es Salaam, apparently from a heart attack. He joined the Tanganyika Police 30 years ago and had served in Zanzibar for the past three years.
