They came to Kenya in 1908 and settled near Nakuru. So the children might continue their education (they now had a family of ten) Mrs Engelbrecht approached the government and a teacher was sent from Nairobi to help them. In this way was the foundation laid for the Nakuru school. Later they moved to Eldoret and at the end of the Great War, when Engelbrecht returned to Eldoret, the Eldoret school was started. After trying Australia, they returned and settled for a while in Laikipia then later went back to Eldoret.
