Rundgren - Blixen had not been a satisfactory partner in the coffee estate and Ture Rundgren had started again from scratch, this time with his brother Carl at a place called Makuyu, 52 miles from Nairobi on the Nanyuki road. ........... The favourite haunt of the white hunters was still the bar in the Norfolk Hotel. Many a night Eric and his brother Clive sat outside in the family T-model Ford, waiting while their father played poker, gambling on occasions with the very land on which they lived and farmed. Much of what is now the prosperous town of Nakuru belonged to the Rundgrens before it was lost one night to a hand with 3 queens against Ture's 3 tens. ......…
