Foster - Together with Miss Mason she established Kaloleni CMS Mission Station in 1904. CMS Kaloleni Hospital was founded in 1929. She retired in 1934 after many years work amongst the Giriama, who knew her as "Mama". Died 26 March 1958.
Rabai - The church cannot help being involved in areas of communal tension; for instance, Miss Florence Deed, coming from Australia in 1893, became completely identified with the Giriama and attended administrative barazas to make sure that no ruling was recorded that was not understood and accepted by those present.
