General Information:

White Man - Delamere bought, or thought he had bought, 500 acres of land just outside Nairobi. Before any agreement had been signed the vendor, a Mr Smart, sold the same land to somebody else. He then sued Delamere and his solicitors for the return of the title deeds and won the case. Before the title deeds could be handed over, Mr Smart went bankrupt, and Delamere began to suspect that the proceedings were not all they purported to be .......... He lost his temper and tore up the title deeds in a rage. As a sequel he was prosecuted by the Crown for 'fraudulently destroying an asset in bankruptcy.'
