EAS - 15/1/1903 - Mr W.A. Flacke, the new postmaster of Entebbe …… arrived by the Patiala

Uganda Journal - Vol. 21, No. 1 - Early Days in Kampala by W.E. Hoyle - …… Entebbe also boasted an hotel, which to the best of my recollection was named the 'Equatorial Hotel'. The owners were Italians, Mr and Mrs Berti. They had a charming daughter who became engaged to the first English Postmaster at Kampala, Mr W.A. Flacke. Their marriage was the first to be solemnized in St. John's Church, Entebbe. The amusing incident of this engagement was that neither knew the other's language, but both knew Swahili, so their little problem was solved.
North - 'Sorting Clerk & Telegraphist' at the Bournemouth Post Office, aged 27 appointed Postmaster at Entebbe, 30-10-1902; arr. Entebbe 11-2-1903
EAHB 1905 - Postmaster, Nairobi - also listed as Postmaster at Entebbe
