Uganda Journal - Vol 23, p.173 - George Wilson and Dagoretti Fort by H.B. Thomas - Auburn travelling to Uganda with Capt W.H. Williams in 1891. Detached to travel with Ernest Gedge who was very ill to the Coast from Kyagwe. G.J. Auburn was an ex-cavalry soldier. He joined the IBEA Company in 1888 and was in charge of the Company's plantations. In July 1890 he led an advance caravan to Kibwezi with stores for Lugard's Uganda expedition.
