General Information:
John Heppes - In 1925 William was working for brother Albert on the Rongai farm. Round about 1928 he was transporting supplies by lorry from Nairobi to the gold mines at Lolgorien and Kilimafeza in Tanganyika to my grandfather Peter Wray. After that from sometime early in the 1930s he was the farm manager for Karen Blixen at Ngong but in about 1932 moved back to Albert's farm at Rongai. In 1933 to 1939 he worked on the Kakuzi Fibrelands Estates at Mitubiri. Between 1939 and 1944 he was mining in the western province of Uganda. From 1944 to sometime in the mid 50s he managed Bondeni Farm at Mweiga and then Lamuria farm just down the road until his death in 1960.
